Tuesday 16th March - Looking for Eric (15)
Dir: Ken Loach (UK 2009, 116 mins)

Struggling to cope after another failed marriage and lumbered with two deadbeat stepsons, Manchester postman Eric Bishop is at the end of his tether. But in his darkest hour, he receives inspiration and guidance from his hero: footballing philosopher, Eric Cantona. Ken Loach’s most entertaining film yet.

Tuesday 23rd March - Mid August Lunch (U)
Dir: Gianni Di Gregorio (Italy 2008, 75 mins)

Gianni finds his flat filled with mischievous, troublesome old women when he feels obliged to look after the mothers and aunts of two acquaintances.  Effortless, charming and beguiling, the film exudes a comedic appeal filled with wit and wisdom. The performances have a superb naturalistic air – making Mid-August Lunch a meal you’ll definitely savour and remember.

Tuesday 30th March - Sleep Furiously (U)
Dir: GideonKoppel (England/Wales 2008, 94 mins)

A gorgeous meditative documentary on what it means to live in a small farming community in mid-Wales. Small scale agriculture is disappearing and the generation who inhabited a pre-mechanized world is dying out. A poetic and profound journey into a world of endings and beginnings; a world of stuffed owls, sheep and fire.
